Spanish superstar Fernando Torres is completing an $80 million mega-transfer to Chelsea, who lost $114 million last season. Bizarrely, that’s only the second most-intriguing transfer story of the day, involving Liverpool. The Reds will spend $56 million of that fee immediately, a transfer record for an English player, to buy Andy Carroll from Newcastle.
