Third-division club Unterhaching knocked Freiburg out of the German Cup with a 3-2 victory on Sunday. Freiburg is the fourth topflight team to be eliminated in the first round, after Bayer Leverkusen, Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg. Title-holder Schalke routed seventh-tier team FC Teningen 11-1, but two Bundesliga clubs needed extra time to advance past lower-division opposition.
