SC Freiburg – FC Augsburg Bottom hosts second-bottom in Freiburg and defeat for the home side would leave them five points adrift of the side currently directly above them. “The team simply lost too many games in the first half of the season. There was a lot of bad luck involved, but now we need to really work as a collective and take something from the game against Augsburg straight away”, says former SCF assistant coach Christian Streich, who took over in the hot seat from the luckless Marcus Sorg during the winter recess. Furthermore, the hosts go into this crunch encounter minus the services of new skipper Julian Schuster , Mensur Mujdza and Oliver Barth. For Augsburg sporting director Andreas Rettig, “Freiburg are under a lot more pressure.
