Giant-killers Kiel down Mainz, Hertha beat Lautern

Munich – Amateur side Holstein Kiel caused a massive upset in the DFB Cup on Wednesday evening after convincingly beating 1. FSV Mainz 05 2-0. They will be joined in the quarter finals by Hertha BSC Berlin, who resisted late pressure from 1. FC Kaiserslautern to win 3-1.

Munich – FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund went through to the quarter finals by the skin of their teeth after narrowly defeating Bundesliga 2 opposition, while Greuther Fürth caused an upset away at 1. FC Nuremberg and 1899 Hoffenheim defeated FC Augsburg. The final will be held in the Berlin Olympiastadion on May 12th 2012.
